More about me
Robyn L. K. Pfahl is an attorney, policy strategist, mediator, and agricultural advocate whose career bridges law, land, culture, and community resilience. Licensed in both Hawaiʻi and Montana, Robyn brings more than two decades of experience supporting agricultural enterprises, nonprofits, families, and mission-driven organizations navigating complex legal, regulatory, and organizational landscapes.
Robyn’s work is grounded in a lifelong connection to agriculture, rural communities, and animal stewardship. Before entering law, she worked extensively in farming, ranching, equine training, and coffee roasting, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business Management, Economics, and Animal Science from Montana State University. Her honors research explored the international and local economic implications of fair trade coffee—foreshadowing a career focused on ethical systems, food security, and community-centered markets.
Robyn earned her Juris Doctor from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, with certificates in Environmental Law and Native Hawaiian Law. Her law thesis examined how farm-to-school legislation can strengthen Hawaiʻi’s food security, a focus that later led her to become Hawaiʻi’s first Farm to School Coordinator at the Hawaiʻi Department of Agriculture. In that role, she developed a coordinated statewide program addressing procurement, supply chains, agricultural education, and market access for local farmers.
Through her private practices—PONO Resolutions, LLC in Hawaiʻi and Granite Law, PLLC in Montana—Robyn provides flexible estate planning, trust and land-use consultation, agricultural business support, nonprofit governance, procurement strategy, and public–private partnership evaluation. She is known for designing practical, values-aligned legal structures that adapt to uncertain times while protecting families, land, and mission-driven enterprises.
Robyn also serves as Executive Officer of Akamai Rendezvous, an international nonprofit grounded in Hawaiian values of Aloha, Kuleana, Ahonui, Mālama, Akahai, and ʻIke, and as CEO of Rendezvous Farm, LLC, a 25-acre family permaculture farm in rural Montana focused on regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, and equine-assisted wellness.
Throughout her career, Robyn has worked in legislative drafting, procurement policy, mediation, restorative justice, and community facilitation. She has served in the Hawaiʻi Legislature, the Hawaiʻi State Procurement Office, and numerous nonprofit boards and advisory bodies. Her approach integrates legal rigor with cultural awareness, practical problem-solving, and deep respect for the interconnectedness of people, land, and systems.
Robyn’s professional mission is to help individuals and organizations build structures that are legally sound, culturally grounded, and capable of sustaining both present and future generations.
